The Silence of the Lambs

Two years ago my lamb Agatha died. She got stuck in a tree, playing, broke her leg and had to be put down. I thought I would never recover from the pain.
Her brother Arthur and the rest of the flock are all alive and well. They no longer live with me, but they are forever running free on the sunny plains of my heart.

Anna had a little lamb
Little lamb, little lamb
Anna had a little lamb
Its fleece was black as coal

I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself
